The future of Radici del Sud: all the novelties of the next edition from 5th to 11th June 2018
After the success of the 2017 edition of Radici del Sud we are already working for next year. Among the novelties there is the new contest for Olive Oils and the possibility for visitors to purchase during the Exhibition.
The 12th edition of the Exhibition of Southern Italian Wines and Oils has just closed to Sannicandro di Bari, and we are already working on the upcoming edition. From 5 to 11 June 2018, the event will return to occupy the rooms of the Norman Swabian Castle of Sannicandro di Bari, town which this year hosted visitors, journalists and buyers from all over the world.
The 2017 edition counted the presence of a Chinese delegation led by Alessio Fortunato, who has been working in China since 2013 as China Wine Market Consultant and as a professor of Wine Business at NWAF University. The Chinese market already appreciates the wines of southern Italy, but is expected to expand in the coming years. The international presence has in general been very nourished, with international guests, a sign that the wines of the South represent a strong appeal to foreign markets.
As for the structure of the forthcoming edition, the BtoBs, the wine Contest and the two days dedicated to the public have already been confirmed. The novelty will be the tasting panel expanded to Olive Oils with three different juries: one made up of Olive Oil technicians, one made of housekeepers and the last one by the students of hotel schools. A new way to have different points of view on th world of Olive Oil, with a potentials still heavily unexpressed.
The other novelty is that in the two days devoted to the public, the Exhibition will become a real wine and olive oil market, during which visitors will also be able to purchase products directly from the exhibitors.
The work goes on for the wine contest. Our juries have already decreed the 70 finalists, which will soon meet an Italian jury assembled to declare the 3 winners of Radici del Sud 2017. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 27 November at the Norman Swabian castle of Sannicandro di Bari during Radici Wines Experience.
